Jelly blobs floating around

So I've got these little blobs of a jelly-like substance floating around my aquarium. They're a bit bigger than pea-sized and seem to hang on to my HOB filter inlet.

A web search suggests they might be uneaten food (or a result of uneaten food) but I'm not so sure

Any other ideas ?

55g freshwater tank, fully cycled.

I was thinking the same thing (fungus covered food particles).
