leaking Ehiem

Hey guys,


I cleaned out my Ehiem filter (2224) today and it seems each time I perform the maintaince and set it back up it leaks. After a while, maybe a day, it will stop. Keep in mind this is the second time I've cleaned the filter since i've had it for a month. The first time I filled the canister and it leaked, this time I left it empty and hooked it up. How can I get around this with out towels strung along the front of the stand each time I clean it. Thanks in advance.

I don't have an Ehiem, I don't have a canister filter..
Is it possible that you could wet the seal and then put it in?

fixed the problem, had to take out the polyfill and secured the rubber gaskets again.

Now if only my fish would stop getting sucked into the filter....
I have a pre-filter on it already and it doesn't seem to be working.
