LED light beams? Moonlights

I was ebay and found some pretty cool looking led moonlights. They are either 6 or 9 leds on a circuit board "wired" together inside a plastic tube.
heres a picture:

(hopefully that worked)

my question is are they harmful to fish?

They are not harmful to fish. I have a fixture with a single moonlight and though the light is very weak it is a nifty thing for nighttime viewing. I am so pleased with it I am thinking of rigging some up for my other tanks, and it can be done [acronym:c2eec1471f="Do it yourself"]DIY[/acronym:c2eec1471f] pretty simply - who was it that has plans for that? I can't remember!

Then go for it, I say - they are really very cool, don't get hot, and don't take very much juice at all to run, plus they last a very long time.

the website for the [acronym:acec242200="Do it yourself"]DIY[/acronym:acec242200] is www.thelebos.com

You can get the book in .pdf format for $4.95 from his site.

Instructions aren't hard - I believe a lot of those moonlights on Ebay are from folks making them at home and selling them.

A "lunar light" would cost you $14.50 w/power for 2 lights. Add another 2 for $11.50 for a total of 4.

[acronym:acec242200="Do it yourself"]DIY[/acronym:acec242200] is $6.00 power, .25/resister, .50/LED and .99 for wiring. A wooden/plastic board and you make your own cost. 10 LED system is <$20.
