on my fishtanks i have the regular tube bulbs on them all and since the energy rate going up i am leading toward the compact fluorescent bulbs. do i have to buy all new fixtures for these or do they have the compact fluorescent bulbs for regular fixtures?

thanks

You can usually get compact flourescent bulbs that screw into incandescent light fixtures. No need to change the fixture for that. If you are talking about already having flourescent and wanting to change to compact flourescent...you need a new fixture.

Incandescent bulbs are the short ~ 5 inch ones.

I have one of those screw on type compact bulbs and one normal florescent bulbs. I was also considering a PC but I don't see how they could reduce power usage. I have a 29g planted tank and was thinking of getting a 96w pc bulbs.
Am I over doing it? I believe thats 3.3wpg?
I currently have a 40w screw on compact and a 20w regular and was also thinking of adding another 20w regular I have laying around and doing the ODNO thing to it.
