As sorta fun science project/thing-to-do with my step-daughter, I've been thinking of hatching some live brine shrimp to feed my tank.

My question to you is, once you are ready to begin feeding your tank, can you avoid them from possibly getting sucked up into the filter intake tube.

I have a Penquin 100 pump.

Perhaps during the feeding, I turn off filtration and pump for a few minutes?

Thanks all. :?

turn off the filtration for the entire time your feeding the BBS

I would watch them eat and when you cannot see anymore turn it back on.

If they are full and not eating and there are still BBS you over fed ;) add smaller amounts at a time.
