Looky what came in the mail yesterday!

I decided that a full DI system wouldnít really be a benefit, so I went with just reverse osmosis. Excited to maybe finally be able to get my weirdly fluctuating TDS under control.

Having compassion for the real life getting in the way of fish and shrimp world.

I was going to have a plumber hook up a faucet and a special connector for fish related stuff like an RO in the utility room, he said he had done lots of these, so when the "plumber" came back it wasn't the smart guy, it was the inexperienced one who didn't do a very good job on our other work they were contracted to do.

So we definitely didn't have him do a high price botch job.

After the other work done on some remodel stuff, my RO connector (cheaper faucet screw on model) doesn't fit - different style faucets now.

Oof, that doesnít sound like a great time. :/

I did get it up and running today and made 20 gallons of RO water, tds of about 15 according to my little pen tds meter. Just did a little change on the shrimp tank, since thereís at least one pregnant shrimp and I donít want to shock them too much. Figure Iíll do 5 gallons at a time maybe until I get the tds back under 400. It hit 700 the other day

700 wow, good for snails?
Sounds like a little bit of water changing should help. Do you know what the kH is?

I would check it periodically to make sure you have ability to keep a stable pH. I know in my 72g when I didn't keep up with good water changes was always low on kH. I have different water, but just wanting it not to crash down the line after a few pwc for you.
