Lost crawfish????

Ok i had a small crawfish in my tank he went in and hid. Now a few days later i dont see him anywere?? Can they burrow in the sand? I checked all around the tank and no sign of him?? Lost but not found. Any ideas

crayfish are notorious for climbing and jumping out of their tanks!
Do you have a lid/cover on your tank?

check the floor, carpet around your tank.

Yeah i checked all around the tank completely. Lid yes. no i didnt turn over all decs i have alot of slate rocks and round river rocks and that i really dont want to do.

throw some sinking food in the tank.

Crayfish are great hunters and are always hungry. Maybe it will coax him out of hiding.

and yes they can dig into the sand..like they said I would toss in a small chunk of bloody meat and he will be all over it

my crayfish just molted and he had been hiding for a few days and now he tries to lay low until his shell hardens.
