lots of black stuff
hey there
last week i put in a pleco in my tank cuz i have lots and lots and lots of brown algea. he is doing an amazing job at cleaning up. since hes been in there i c lots and lots ob black stuu on the gravel. looks like fish poop but really long and thick. Theres really lots of it spread out threw out the tank. what is that? can it be the pleco poop? hes about 5 inches and hes been doing lots of algea eating. thanks

Common pleco's will munch on algae, but they sure do poop alot. I find that my smaller bristlenose pleco's are a bit cleaner and much more efficient. You may want to try a pretty good sized group of otocinclus. They are much smaller and will munch your algae sorrows away.
