Magnesium Question

Guys I have question about Mg and it is.... I need to raise my Mg fast what is the best method? I have seen liquid form, powder form etc ect......one other question is what is the balling method and what has people found to be the best method of increasing Mg fast!

Why do you want to increase Mg?

Normally one use MgSO4 (Epsom's salt) to raise the Mg in the water. However, you would not want to raise that too fast, as Mg is a major electrolyte & may cause problems if you overdose on the MgSO4.

Also, you would normally want to raise Mg with its companion ion Ca ... unless you have water rich in Ca already.

If this is for a SW tank you can get a test to test for Mg. Remember don't add anything you aren't testing for.
