Male or Female Guppy

Just got a guppy for my sisters tank and I don't know if it is a boy or girl. It looks like it has a gravid spot so I think it's a girl.

From my little understanding of guppies, males are generally much more colorful, and the females are more dull colored, and not as good looking

Judging by the picture I would say no. The gravid spot will darken as she is closer to dropping fry. She will also "square up" as the fry develop.

Well there is a gravid spot and it is black. You just can't tell it from Te picture. And the stomach is flattening on the bottom.
