I've read some really interesting posts concerning adding media to filters, but I don't fully understand it all. Currently I have 2 HOB filters that have the carbon cartridges that came with them. The penguin biowheel has room for additional "media" but I'm not sure what I need to get. Dumb question, but what is media? Forgive me, because I'm sure this has been explained numerous times. I have an another 29 gallon that I will be starting in my classroom in a couple of weeks and I would love to be able to seed it from existing media in my filter. What do I get?
