Howdy All,

I just recently converted my 45 reef to a FW tank (with soon to be live plant refugium in the stand below). I've cleaned the tank and sump, added well rinsed "natural gravel" and let the system run. No rocks or arty plants yet.

It's been about 3 days since I added the gravel, but the water is cloudy from micro-bubbles in the water. This is not Bacterial Bloom. I can see the small bubbles swirling around with the water circulation pattern. I've never seen micro-bubbles in a FW tank.

I checked for leaks in the pump line that returns water from the sump - a leak there could inject bubbles in to the return stream, but the line seems clean and dry.

Any thoughts?

I would shut stuff off and see if it helps one at a time. More than likely its trapped air under the gravel try stirring it up a bit
