Micron filter bags?

Been reading a bit about some water born bacteria and some of the sites I hit mentioned micron filters.
In searches I see they sell micron bags.
I have a whisper style filter and was wondering if ti would be beneficial to put my filter media cartridge into one of the bags for extra safety and cleanliness.

Would this help?
Would this impede water flow?
Could there be a negative impact?

If unsure, is anyone else wondering if its worth while and want me to try it?

I can't see it helping at all, if anything it will impede flow and cause major bypass of media... your tank will always harbor crap that can kill your fish.. it is up to you to keep the fish happy and healthy with quality food and clean water. Stressed fish get sick, plain and simple..
