I know it's suppose to be 2:1 female to male. I have a male and female balloon molly. I was wondering do I have to get another female balloon molly? Or would any sort of female molly work to balance the ratio?

I think it's best to stick with balloons, I'm not sure if cross breeding would be a possibility otherwise.

Either another balloon or a regular female would work. Balloon mollies have been bred to have that compressed body which in itself can cause problems so outcrossing to a regular female will actually strengthen offspring.
