Moon Light should I use it or not

The new aquarium I bought at a garage sale had lights with a moon light

I will only have freshwater tanks so I don't think I really need the moon light.

Has anyone used moon light for a fresh water tank?

I thought it was only for salt water tanks with coral

I'm going to put one on mine mainly for evening viewing I'm trying to cut down on light to stop algae growth but I still want to watch them! I don't think I will leave them on all the time?

I don't use my moon light. The kids thought it was neat for about 2 weeks and since then it has not been used. Can't see much with it on anyway.

i have an rgb set and i can change the color for the mood but i never turn them off they run day and night since i can dim them...fish dont mind it since there nocturnal...but out in the wild they have natural moonlight so if they dont like the light they move into the shade.....................good luck
