Mosquito Larvae

I have read a lot about the benefits of feeding Mosquito Larvae and how to raise them . I have gathered rainwater in a large black bucket. Into the bucket I have put a blanched Lettuce leaf ,a blanched piece Cucumber, a squashed Garden Snail and a Tortoise pooh to condition the water.

I intend to leave the water for 1 week and then strain it through muslin , returning the water without any debris / aging mosquito larvae. I'll feed the larvae to the fish and hopefully will have conditioned water to start the process again.

Has anyone anymore info to help with the raising of Mosquito Larvae ?

Feed em off fast before they turn into bloodsuckers lol. Sounds like a sound plan though.

I have a pond near me so I just get a net and scoop into the water to get mosquito larvae. My bettas love it. From what I have read, your plan seems good!
