Moss Balls ??

I recently saw these in my LFS and wondered what the benefit of one was or is it just a decoration. I have a non-planted tank and was just curious.

It's a decoration, and does consume some of the phosphates in the water. If you move them around on occasion, or if the fish do, they will pretty much stay round. Or if you let a few sit and not be moved, they will slowly flatten out and create a moss floor, if you have enough of them. But mostly they are decor.

ROFLMAO , Moss balls.... reminds me of when I opened the hall closet and was rummaging through it only to have nasty green moth balls fall off the shelf into me face. Now those were moss balls, and stinky too!!
