I have a 20 gallon freshwater tank that is established . I am moving from California to Colorado in a month and want to know if there's an easy way to transfer just my driftwood (with java fern), a marimo miss ball, and a rabbit snail. I would most likely transfer everything to a smaller container, like 5 gallon, while we get set up at the new place. The drive is about 13 hours, would the snail be okay without filtration for that long? Also, is there a way I can just dunk my filter media (2 sponge cubes) in the smaller tank to keep it alive? Or does it require the filter to be running in order to keep the bacteria alive? And how long would the bacteria last without the filter running?

Thanks guys!

Everything should be fine especially if it's only one snail.

Your bacteria should be okay just keep it submerged in tank water.
