Okay, so I have a 55gallon, it's been running for over a year now, all is well and everybody is happy, and healthy.

I currently have this filter:
Marineland Penguin Power Filter (50-70 gallon)
http://www.amazon.com/Marineland-Penguin-Power-Filter-70-Gallon/dp/B0009IMDQM/ref=pd_bxgy_199_img_y

It's on one side of the tank. The bio-wheels sometime stop, and overall it has seemed to stop working as well, even with cleaning and filter changes. So I was considering replacing it and just keeping my old bio-wheels. Then, I realized that there's also the other side of the tank which also has a spot for another dual filter.

So, should I replace more current one, or just add another? Is it possible to have too much filtration? I notice the fish tend to sit on the side without the filter because the current is calmer. I also have two air pumps.

Thanks in advance! :fish2:

I would skip the air pumps and just go with 2 filters. It won't bother your fish any.
