My 30g tank :)
Here are a few pics of the tank. The decorations are all artificial (ie no real rocks). The plants are silk (except for 3 -1 in each corner and 1 really tall one). The "floating plants" aren't really floaters - I detached the plants from the bases and hung them over the cross bar using fishing line - nice place in case I end up with platy fry to hide - was thinking the betta that will be eventually added might like it also).
The substrate are marbles / glass beads - they're less than 1 layer deep to keep wastes from accumulating under them. The cories actually move them around while they hunt. The two "flowers" are actually handblown glass napkin rings - they add a little color and "artsy" to the tank. The background is two layers of transparent shiny tissue paper - one blue, one black. I have to change that before the betta gets added - its too much like a giant mirror. I think I'm going to paint one on the dull side of wax paper and then tape it on. I'll have to think about the design. Thanks again for all your help |

Thanks.
I love watching all the fish swim in and out of the caves in the rocks. I keep imagining what it must be like for them and I hope they find the setup as interesting as I do. The Panda's are so adorable ! They're active and two of the three generally hang out together - quite entertaining. And they really DO remind me of giant pandas (one of my favorite animals). The tank is in my office - can't wait until I go back to work next week (I'm on vacation right now - Mom is visiting with me for the week). I'm going to have to discipline myself so I don't end up fish watching instead of working !
