My first water change

HaOw much water should I change for my 60 gallon cichlid tank, it's going to be my first water change since I set the tank up, also how often should I do a water change?

Let your test results dictate it. Ideally you want 0 ammonia and nitrite and 20ppm or less of nitrate.

Well my nitrite is 0 but I don't have ammonia and nitrate testers so I can't test them

I suggest that you look Into purchasing an API MASTER TEST KIT.

Yes, very important to have a test kit. They are cheapest online. General rule of thumb for a moderately sticked tank is 50% weekly. On an overstocked cichlid tank you'd be looking at 1-3 50% water changes a week. Of course you don't really know unless you can test.

I've seen them anywhere from 11 to 30 dollars just shop around online and see what's around you.

About $30-45 online here in Aus. Totally worth it. Lasts a long time and way more accurate than test strips.
