my new puffers

hey guys here in aus there isnt alot of range when it comes to freswater/brackish puffers. we dont have dwarf, greenspot, figure 8, amazon. nothing at all really. what we do have are these guys known as common toad fish (Tetractenos hamiltoni). hope u like em, there isnt alot of info on keeping em ( they are considered a bit of a pest).

I'm from Sydney

May I ask where you got your Freshwater puffers from? -- I can't find them anywhere (only saltwater varieties)

Common Toadfish, Tetractenos hamiltoni (Gray & Richardson, 1843) - Australian Museum

You have the Common Toadfish (Tetractenos hamiltoni)


There is also another puffer available legally in Australia. It is the Smooth Toadfish, (Tetractenos glaber)

These guys are the same you would pull from the harbor they arnt really freshwater but this time of year they move inland to spawn. These s where found in an sg of.008. But i was at the same loss for ages trying to get an f8 or somethin but the common toadie dose me well
