More info: It's a 2.5 inch baby in case the patterns change with age (I hope not!). Beautiful cat!
 
Planet Catfish really helped me pin it down by looking at the juvenile photos, he's from South America Leiarius marmoratus another colorful genus of cats similar looking to synos.
 
It's like my old favorite personal joke, don't fall in love with a baby ripsaw or a giraffe nosed cat unless you plan on building a pond (both grow up to become inflexible giant tanks!) :lol: This species stays long and thin and fast and maneuverable, but still it should be considered a monster sized fish and housed accordingly as an adult.
