So I have a 10 gallon planted tank on the floor and I can't use my gravel siphon to siphon out waste because that's not how it works :D.
Is there another way to remove the waste? the gravel in the back of the tank is getting loaded with waste

I have similar issues. I don't have substrate in mine though for those reason. Have you tried one of those battery operated gravel vacs?

My tanks aren't on the floor, but I've seen people use a python, with the water running from the tap to create the siphon. My LFS owner uses this method for the lower display tanks.
