Need stocking ideas

I have a 29 gallon long tank. In there already are:

•3 gold tetras
•4 neon tetras (I used to have more but over time some have died)
•4 African dwarf frogs

I need hardy fish. I'm not a fan of bettas.

Rummynose tetras are very active and sweep back and forth in a tight school.

Endler's Livebearers are very peaceful and colorful.

You should make your tetra schools at least 6 individuals of each species.

You can't go wrong with platies.

Honey gourami are nice in that size tank, only one male or they fight. I have one male and 2 females. They like a planted tank and floating plants. They are generally more peaceful than the dwarf gourami.

I agree with keeping the schooling fish with 6 each at least. I believe neons require cooler water than your other fish.

Theres a lot of schooling fish that you have to have at least 6 of, with your gold tetras 6 is minimum 10 is recommended in its profile if it's the gold pristilla tetra.

Great advise so far.

Yes, it is frustrating sometimes trying to get more of a fish (healthy) you are wanting from the lfs.

Otocinclus Catfish always buy double / or at least a few more of what you want of them because some tend to die in the transition.

One other thing - maybe consider the fish you love the most for your tank and build a stocking plan based on that fish - say 1 Gourami, or a school of _____ fish. Then go from that fish and see what number of them and which other fish goes with it best.
