Betta is on the brink of passing due to dropsy, so I'm going to have to restock shortly.

I want to stick with the 10 gallon. I have a heater and a very good filter (AC20).

I don't want goldfish.

Cold-Water fish are ok.

I think I want a couple of small[ish] brightly colored fish. Something that doesn't require a ton of maintenance and aren't as spoiled as my betta (he would only take one pellet at a time, hand fed...and that is if he even felt like eating)

What do you have for me guys? Any ideas?

you could try neons, a group of six. they are really sensitive tho, especially if you get a bad stock, it would leave you room for a centerpiece fish like another betta or a dwarf gourami, you could also add a snail

You could do a small school of Chili Rasboras or Celestial Pearl Danios, they're pretty colorful.
