Does anyone here own needlenose gar?? I've been planning a tank for a long time for a school and was wondering if any of you guys owns one. Does it only eat live foods? I have heard that this is true, and if it is will it be ok on live foods only? I know that live foods aren't very nutritious and I need suggestions on other foods. My setup will be as follows.
55 gallon
3-4 needlenose gar
ropefish
bio wheel 250
ebo jager heater
gravel substrate
Do you think this is ok? I have also heard that they are brackish fish, so what should the salinity be at? I am an experienced saltwater keeper going back to freshwater since it is so much easier to maintain and you don't have to worry nearly as much. TIA
