Neon tetra breeding

Ok so I'm trying to breed my neon tetras. I have 6 in a community 10 gallon tank, and I'm trying to breed them.

The thing is I don't have another tank to put a breeding pair in for now. My 2.5 gallon is occupied by a betta.

I'm getting a 40 gallon, but is there any way to breed my neons before that? I heard screwing around with the lighting helps a lot
