New 40 gallon

Bought a new 40 gallon. Moved my plants and gravel substrate over from my 15 gallon. I put half the old gravel on one side and purchased new for the other. I also squeezed out 3 media pads in to the tank. The canister filter that I bought also contained lots if media that was kept wet inside for 3 days. I temperature match and dechlorinated the new water before transferring all my fish at once. I am not expecting any deaths.

So now I have

10 neons (bought 5 more)
8 harlequins
3 swords 1 male 2 female
2 GBR 1 male 1 female
1 panda Cory

I'm going to add 4 more pandas but my question is I would like 1-2 centre piece fish like gouramis

I know I am close to limit using the inch per gallon rule but does anyone have any suggestions?

My favorite gourami are opaline gouramis. Most are pretty peaceful too.

They are quite big though aren't they at full size? I do like them myself.

Max size is around 6 inches
