I just bought a $9 castle, took out the plastic cups I had in my tank, put the "Mermaids wanted" sign in front of the castle, spread out all the plants, put my lilypad frog thingy in there for my frogs and it looks SWEET. All of my fish love it especially the ones that like to hide like Zipper my dwarf gourami. My male betta went into the castle and came out one of the towers....IT WAS SO COOL!...i'ma geek I know lol but it's so cool O____O *drools*

So why arent all those fish dead? lol, there is terrible many.

For those who haven't seen my tank, yes it is REALLy over stocked and it's 10 gallons, but I have had MINIMAL fish deaths. I have a problem with stopping myself from buying fish ^^; I have gone over this with many of the people here and quite a few times but it's quite a healthy tank none the less

2 dwarf gouramis
1 blue gourami
2 black skirt tatras
3 neon tetras
4 zebra danios
2 something longfinned danios
4 female mollies
3 corys
2 betta fish
5 african dwarf frogs
and all my baby fish >_<

Yes I know, I need a bigger tank. Mom won't let me even though i'd be buying it >.> she's a stinker! >_<

Wow you can have FROGS in an aquarium? Thought they were land guys.

BTW that castle=someting else to clean, lol.

How often do you change out the water? I thought my tank had more or less reached its limit, but if you aren't having problems, I suppose I could add a few more fish.

I do water changes maybe once or twice a week (maybe more on occasion) and I've had it like this for months ._. except without all the babies, black skirts, 1 danio, but all the rest I've had for maybe 2 or 3 months or longer. I started my tank in Feb and I've kept my older male dwarf gourami 2 neons, 2 zebras, 1 goldfin, 1 molly, 3 adfs since about then, all the rest are additions from about 4 months to present, but I dont get anymore due to I can't possibly see having anymore >_< and I know that's just plain wrong

and people get on to me for overstocking.. you've got quite a mess on your hands, how often do you do water changes?

That is just really sad to look at... I mean, the fish stores have that many, but theirs are in and out and yours are just cramped... what is your water currently testing? Im surprised you tank can handle such a bioload. and 2 betta's in that mess? wow... thats 28 plus fish.. way over 56 inches of fish in a 10 gallon tank.. that is beyond overstocked... your fish will NOT have long lives, im surprised some of them lived as long as they did.. and in a healthy aquarium, you shouldn't really have fish dying at all.. unless they are old, or if they are new (sometimes new fish succomb to shock or already almost dead when you buy them)

well... the 2 things i would worry about is the gouramis and the baby fish. the baby fish can get eaten, but if they survive it'll be pretty cramped. and the gouramis will fight.

the danios are called longfinned leopard danios.
i would get rid of the dwarf gouramis and the bettas. since 2 bettas wouldnt do well together and the bettas wont do well together. personally i would get rid of the bettas and the dwarf gouramis and the dwarf frogs. as long as you didnt add them at the same time you should be fine.

it would also be more balanced if you had the fish spread out a lil more than pretty much top fish.
