New filter

So my tank is not cycled yet but I want to switch from the crappy Top Fin 10 filter that came with my tank and put in an Aqua Clear 20 gallon filter. It doesn't seem like my Top Fin filter is seeded with bacteria at all. Should I still put the old filter cartridge in my new Aqua Clear? I have a 10 gallon tank and am doing a fish in cycle

How long has the top fin filter been running with with fish in the tank?

Do you have room on the tank to run both filters side by side for awhile? If not, I would add some of the filter medium from the top fin to the new aqua clear

Only about a month. I haven't seen any decrease in ammonia or increase in nitrites. I have room to run both so I'll probably just do that

Id run both, can never have to much filtration.
