I'm changing to a new filter on my 30g tank. I put the bio media from the old filter in the new one and I was wondering if I should take the carbon off of the filter cartridge in the new filter? Would the tank be better off with or without the carbon basket on the back of the filter cartridge?

If you want a planted tank, remove the carbon. From what I understand, it will remove some of the micro-nutrients plants want.
