Looking at my eco, I think you might be right--most of the grains are right at or just under the size they recommend against. I don't have any personal experience with goldies on it, though--my comet is in the tank temporarily but hasn't (and won't) be there long enough to give any good advice on that (though he does love to sift through the play sand area, if that helps ).

Cool, I'll go PSF then. Just wish I had not cleaned the pool last weekend or I could have dumped the sand in a pillow case and rinsed it in the pool. It was light green and had no chlorine in it at all. Oh well. A hose works too.
