Hey guys,
Been wanting to put moonlights on my aquarium for a few months now... Did some web hunting, and found this for 30 bucks, which I didn't think was too bad. It's called the r2 moonlight extreme. It's hard to appreciate with the pics, but it looks really nice on my 29gal. It shimmers and everything because of the filter water flow. I'm really happy with the results. Took all of maybe 10-15min to put in. I hope my syndodontis comes out a little more now.

Holy cow! that is a nice looking tank! lol I cant tell about the moonlights from the pic. Can you see the fish with them on?

Thanks! Yes u can... But if they hide behind something they are in the shadows. I'm pretty happy with the lights though. Makes the tank really nice at night.

Sweet. I am thinking about DIYing some moonlights for a new tank project :)

Update: have had the lights for a week or so now, and it's nice! I have them turn on around 945 and then the normal lights cut out at 10. They only stay on till 1 am. The fish still sleep, but my syndodontis swims all around. In fact, he'll even let me come right up to the tank with the moonlights to watch him and he won't swim away and hide.

Nice! I wanted a moonlight effect too but didn't like any of the lights I've seen at the store, so at work I laminated some pieces of light blue paper and when I get home in the evenings I put the laminated paper under the tank's light: instant moonlight and cost was $0. LOL

For one of those, how much wattage does it use? I like to keep operating cost low ;)

I run one on the side of my tank and angle it down about 45 degrees. Looks neat. I couldn't mount it on the top like that because the tank brace created a shadow :\

Awesome! Came out Great!! Nice job with the install. Looks amazing under the lights. I really like it because it's not too much. It's just enough.

Again nice job and great looking tank.

The Con :)
