So im getting a 45g tomorrow, should i go with undergravel or canister? Whats everyone think?
Im new to both of those

Given those two choices, I would get a cannister. Specifically for your tank a Fluval 305 or even a 405. Undergravel filters will cause issues if you ever chose to have live plants. Aquaclear Hang on the back filters are very nice also.

Of course there are many opinions, but that is my 2 cents.

Have a good one!

I would go with a canister filter. Fluvial are great, a fluval 305 is good for your size.

I would get a canister filter. I think the fluval 306 or 406 are best. They are the latest and greatest. But if you want a different filter get a rena. They are also very good. You could get two fluval 206s. They are on sale at amazon.com for 60$

Awesome thanks for the replies so fast! Haha
I think ive heard enough and might go with a fluval 305.
I do have 2 HOB aquaclear already in my other tanks, but i want to try a "more professional" thing for the best filtration. Its going to be a planted tank.
