Does nitrAte really matter in freshwater tanks, i bought the kit because it can measure SW and FW since im gettin an SW tank. My levels are near perfect tho so im not worried

Ammonia=0.0
pH=7.4
Temp=76-78
Nitrate=0-2

Yes, nitrate does matter in freshwater, but only in very high concentrations. It will accelerate the growth of unwanted algae. It will stress the fish if it gets really high. I would think, as long as your levels are below 50 ppm, you will be fine. Your regular water changes will probably keep it well below this level. The only fresh tanks that I have seen excess nitrate in are those that weren't getting regular water changes or were being fed too much.
