It seemed my nitrites and nitrates showed up the same week, is this good? and what shall i do now? do i do a giant water change or am i suppose to wait till my nitrates spike? thanks!
 
Your Tank Conditions

Good morning Lemm...

Nitrates not higher than 50 to 60 ppm aren't as much of a concern as the nitrites. Even a trace of this chemical in the tank can hurt your fish.

If the tank is relatively small, 30 G or smaller, a 25 to 30 percent water change soon would be good.

Another help would be to plant some fast growing stem plants when you've removed the water. The plants are natural water filters and will help establish good water conditions.
