Normal badis behavior?

How are these little guys supposed to act? They just kind of hang out, sometimes one will hover near the top of the tank almost vertically (nose towards the surface). Just when I think they are sick or something, I look in the tank again and they are either hiding under plants or swimming around. Are they ok?

I don't know if that's the norm but mine act pretty much the same. I have to say I'm never seen any nose up but they do just hover. And when they do move, it's little spurts. They are funny.

Hanging out with heads pointed towards the surface is quite normal. They are waiting for insects or food to fall from the sky! Admittedly, they are not the most active fish, but I love their quirkiness!
