Okay....what is that in my tank?

I recently (~2 weeks ago?) added a peacock eel to my tank; there were already 2 mollies, 2 platys & 1 pleuco in there. Last night I saw a small blob (~dime-sized) at the base of a plant. I am assuming this must have came from the eel? Do I leave it or retrieve it?

Sounds like snail eggs, pond snail or ramshorn.

I do not have any live plants. How would they have gotten in my tank if it indeed is snails?

Could've hitchhiked in if you used any decor/gravel from a tank with snails or gotten fish from a snail tank, a tiny snail or a blob of eggs could've been floating in the fish bag. Can you get a picture of it? Pest snail eggs look like a blob of jelly.

Could also be rotten/uneaten food.

I get balls of this in my floating hornwort. What is your feeding routine like? I don't feed on Sunday so the fish scavenge the leftovers.
