Hi

I have a issue with my Oscar eating any vegetables or algae wafers I place in the tank for the BN to eat. This behaviour has only started in the last week or so and I'm worried my BN will starve to death.

For instance I put some cucumber in like normal about the Oscar decides to attack it making a huge mess of the tank. He also attacks carrots etc.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there anything I can do?

Cheers

I too have a BN pleco and my platies were eating his algae wafers up before he could.

I find that it is best to put the wafers in at night after all the other fish have gone to sleep. Plecos are more active at night so that's when he should get his food ? I found that a half hour after I turn out the lights worked well.

I also split up his wafers into two and put them at opposite ends of the tank to increase his chances.

Hope this helps ☺
