Otocinclus catfish bioload question (75 planted tank)

My tank is fairly stocked and is a 75g. Would 10otos add much to the overall bioload? I am more than willing to increase the water changes if needed.

I figured they are small enough that I can't imagine they would contribute too much, wanted to check with everyone before buying them.

Negligible man.. I'd add 15-20.. chances are you'll have a 20-30% mortality rate..

Otocinclus catfish bioload question (75 planted tank)

Personally, I've never had problems with otos dying. My have always been healthy an gut loaded when in my tank. You just need to be sure you have ample food sources an do a very slow drip acclamation.

Otos have a very low bio load, so 10 (depending on the Rest of your stock) should be fine

They poison them in order to catch em.. I've had entire groups survive and live for 1.5 years and counting.. also lost all but 1 out of 5..

Don't they breed them?

I've had about 25 in my 65g. I think there are about 3 left since we purchased them 8-9months ago.

They're extremely difficult to tank spawn. Not saying it can't be done it's just pretty uncommon.
