Ok so here is my stock

5 checkered barbs
2 balloon mollies
2 zebra danios
1 julieochromis (probably misspelled that)
2 crayfish
1 common Pleco

Is this tank overcrowded ?
It seems fine in terms of space and there are really no territorial problems
Is the waste produced by my fish going to overwhelm my tank
I have a basic under gravel filter
2 chimneys w/ power head
I am not using the cartridges that are fitted into the airhead at the moment
So is this a sufficient means of filtration?
Is the bioload to great?
Could I possible add a 1-2 more danios
Should I?

well if you have a 75 gallon+ tank then no, anything less then you will be very soon, i say this simply because of the common pleco who grow to be quite large and need alot of space

Are your 2 crayfish getting along? They are usually territorial...

The crayfish might also pester the pleco if it's within reach, as well as the balloon mollies since they are a bit slower swimmers. Anything within their reach, really, is fair game for the crays.

And the common Pleco is about 4 inch and seems pretty happy

And my crayfish actually leave each other alone though they used to pester the Pleco a recent addition of several rocks has solved that problem

So the tank is overcrowded?
And ow frequent should my water changes be considering the amount of fish?
I am currently doing 25-30% weekly

But if this is overcrowded then I could considered ditching my two balloon mollies who are the source of a large amount of the waste produced in the tank...second only to the Pleco of course

that seems fine for a 30 gal, however the common pleco will need to go soon, he may be 4 inches now but he can get up too 1 - 2 feet in length

if you want a pleco id go with the birstlenose type since they are much smaller at 5-6 inches max

Ok but my bigger problem was filtration

Will an old school under gravel filter be adequate?

Like I said I'm not using the black filter cartridges because I was told they were unnessasary

And if my tank isn't overcrowded could I add a couple more danios?
