Overstocking?

Hello, i have a 30 gallon tank with many fish, and i was overstocked by 2 inches then but now my brother bought a cory catfish and he wants to throw his pleco into my tank can cory catfish and pleco get along? And if im going to be overstocked by like 8-10 inches what will that mean... Thanks

The inch per gallon thing isnt really a good measure of stock (assuming thats what yer using)
