I'm considering painting my tank stand, as well as the frame (or whatever you would call it) on the tank. It's an ugly wood grain, and I would like it black. Has anyone had any luck with a particular paint for this frame? I don't want to get half way into it only to find that the paint scratches off easily.

Well... I would except I have to have a rim for the top. My cats will eat my fish otherwise. Haha.

We used krylon fusion also! Went from an ugly brown to black. Also painted the back glass. Won't ever do it any other way

No prob! And as far as the glass we used spray paint on one tank and actual paint on the other. Way better than those vinyl things you try and stick on with tape or oil.

For the glass, just use the $.99 cans of black from walmart. No need in using $3/can paint for that.

I Second that :)
