PH help!!

what is it and why do you think you need to raise it? crushed coral is a great buffer to get the ph at or around 7.8, though its probably unnecessary

As asked, why do you want to alter it?
 
I took my water in for testing today and they told me my PH was below 6 and nitrate was 80. My fish is struggling!!! I need to help my fish but I have never had this happen and I don't know what to do!
 
Did you cycle the tank? Check out the links in MFD's sig. Stability is much more important than the number when it comes to pH. Where are you? Water < 6 is pretty rare unless you're on a well or are softening it.
 
Polynemus catfish. His gills are going really fast and he is not eating well!!!

It ran for a month after I moved before I put a new fish in it.
