Ph question?

My tank is around 7 to 7.2 my tap is 6.4 around. If I do a 30% water change every week is it bad the oh will drop a little in a quick amount of time?

So, 7 is the pH in your tank, and 6.4 is the pH in your tap???


But the pH drops in your tank????????



If you mean the pH rises in your tank, it could be because you have some bufferer in the tank.

somthing is wrong do 2 10% changes in a week rather than 30% in one go substrate will change ph but if ph is not fluctuating then no problem

No he mean his tanks ph is 7 but the tap water is 6.4 and hes worried the tap water will lower his overal ph. I dont think it will. My tank is prolly different from my ph too as I added aragonite.

Have you tried checking your tap ph after it has sat for 24hrs with an airstone or bubbler as well?

yes but you havnt got fish and substrates in your tap water if its stable then then that is correct and everything will adapt be patiant
