Ok, who can tell me what Pleco would be best for a 40 gallon? I am a little weiry of getting one due to the fact that my father-in-law had a 25 gallon tank and his got huge. I'm sure the pet store sold him one unsuitable for his tank, but I am at a loss of which ones to even look at. I did not realize how many types of Plecos are out there. I know I will eventually need one to help with algae. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Lol kk, you could do oto's they get about 1.3" to 2" very small

I'm planning on getting some rams at a later point. Will the rams eat the otos? I have heard of larger fish eating them and dying. I think mainly because the oto gets caught in the fish's mouth due to the spines.

L59 starry night pleco. They don't get that big as well.
There are a bunch of smaller ones but some don't eat that much algea

Research the L numbers on planetcatfish.com if possible.
