Hi. I have 39 gallon tank that measures 30"x24." I understand that with less surface area you must stock less fish. My tank has almost cycled and I was wondering what you guys thought of my stocking choices.

1 Gold Nugget Plec
2 German Blue Rams
6 Congo Tetras
6 Hatchet Fish

Would that make my tank overstocked? How many can/should I add?

I would think 3-5 cories would be fine. They are fun little guys to watch. They like to be in groups so the best idea is to get all the same species.

Discus also prefer to be in larger groups than what a 30 gal would allow.

I'm sure you already know this, but the pleco, rams, and hatchets you chose are pretty delicate fish and may not do well in a recently cycled tank. Be sure to stock slowly and keep a close eye on perams. I guess I would add the congo tetras first. That said, your stocking choices will make for a beautiful tank, and I like the idea of the corys too. Good luck and post pics!
