Quarantine Tank???

What exactly is needed for a quarantine tank? I was thinking of doing a little DIY one with a 5g tote. My thoughts:
Heater
Filter media
Bubbler
Plants
Should I buy a whole filter?

Yes, but a sponge filter will suffice.
