I have seen MTS in my tank and have no idea where they came from. I did some cleaning and picked up my limestone airstone from the substrate and notice a thick coat of something soft around the bottom side that was touching the substrate would anyone know what this might be I cleaned it off and through it away I was thinking maybe some type of snail eggs or something?

MTS are called livebearer snails. I don't think visible eggs come into play with them. Might just be some sludge on your air stone. Unfortunately you're stuck with your MTS now until you drain the tank or copper treat. The good news is they are beneficial and easy to remove when numbers get high.
